Let’s hope not for all of our sakes, but according to Softkinetic’s it is. At GDC ‘08 they were showing off their 3D Gesture Recognition Middleware that “Redefines the Way Players Interact with Videogames”, wait a second this seems to look a lot like WiiFit or Warioware?? I think the novelty of Gesture Recognition is a decent idea, but won’t add to a gamer’s experience until developers really embrace it and build it into games. Until then this is as far away from the future of gaming as you can get.

This reminds me of Sega’s Activator. But you know what? This gimmick could be great for drunken frat parties everywhere.
I don’t know this could be amazingly fun for hanging out, partying, or just messing around. Although you will need to buy a 72″ TV to really get into the gameplay haha.
oh no… this is what video gaming brought to mainstream has become… thanks alot Wii, look at this shit. I want to play my games, not jump up and down and go into wierd poses.
