The next in the line of Capcom games for the PS3 requiring a 20 minute, 5GB install is Lost Planet. PS3 Style got an advance copy (hey Capcom, where’s our advance copy?), and found that the game makes you sit for about 20 minutes while the game caches about 5GB of data to the hard drive, similar to Devil May Cry.
And that’s not even the kicker, as Lost Planet doesn’t have that nice back-story slideshow to keep you company while the game installs. Nope, you get a plain screen with a progress bar. Snazzy.
Now, I understand the BluRay drive reads slower than a 12x DVD, but it’s not that much slower. Is a 5GB install really needed? I’d love to see load time comparisons with and without the data install.

you know, while the thing is installing, you could pop in a copy for the 360 and play, well, right then and there.
Reports are coming in that the Lost Planet 5GB install gives the game zero load times. If this is true, I’m definitely down for the install. If it will make it act like a Super Nintendo game, install away
I bet everytime you hit a load time the screen will go black with nothing to tell you it’s loading, but I bet it really is.
Actually, from all early copies of the game, people are saying there are no black screens, no pauses where the 360 game loads, etc. It’s all seemless
