PS3 owners everywhere have waited for an equivalent to the famed Xbox 360 Achievements. According to PS3fanboy, there WILL be the ability to track what you and your buddies have done in this an hopefully future games.
It’s not the first multiplatform game to include the Xbox 360 achievements inside the PS3 version, by any means, though it is the first to allow players to check out their online accomplishment rankings as well as check out exactly which individual accomplishment goals their friends have achieved.
This could also be the a major step in the development of Home as a viable competitor to the MS juggernaut that is Xbox Live.

Has loot-Ninja done an article about all of the features of Home? If not, they should, hint hint.
Wow, that’s all I have to say. Why can’t Sony make up their own shit, instead of eating MS’s? See now I make my flames somewhat intelligent.
The ‘achievement’ system is supposed to be different in Home, not a direct copy of MS’.
Yeah my bad, they track achievements which reward points that total up next to your username. Totally different, no infringment there.
I don’t see anything that says it will keep a gamerscore in DMC. It says it will keep a running tally of your accomplishments, but it doesn’t say anything about gamerscores. Someone help with pics or whatnot.
This pic below says an accomplishment was unlocked, but unlike the 360 (which tells you the point value) this does not.

a running tally is the definition of gamerscore. this is coke and pepsi all over again. Call it whatever you want, it’s still a rip off.
Coke, Pepsi? Which is a ripoff of which? I like both, and they are way different, in flavor, texture and packaging.
A gamerscore is a number next to your name. What is described in every article for Home (at least the ones I have seen) is not the same thing.
Next thing you’ll be telling me a Ford and a Mercedes (Mercedes obviously being the rip-off according to your analogy) are the same thing because they both have 4 wheels.
If it were infringement, Microsoft would be suing them already.
There is no gamerscore to speak of according to everything I have seen so far.
If it is a ripoff, please show me how so.
Anywho, if anyone has any information to share, I would appreciate it, since I don’t know all that much about Home.
The ford and mercedes analogy was a horrible decision in this debate, perhaps something about cupholders would have went over nicely? Seeing as how ford is designed for the average joe whereas mercedes is made for six figure incomes. You could have mentioned kia since they are building their cars to the mercedes design, in order to let thoses without six figure incomes to purchase something alike to something they can’t have. However, in the long run, kia is the worst choice to make EVER.
Coke pwns pepsi in the sense that they were the original, it is the best tasting, and the classic.
A tally is a representation of your total “achievements” or whatever you don’t call it, which sounds an awful like gamerscore, with fewer numbers. Call it whatever you want they know they decided to do this after learning the greatness of achievements, and in the end Microsoft will be on the top and Sony will be stuck trying to copy last year’s greatness instead of making their own, newer ideas.
And why does it seem as though asains are imitating to much? Kia to Mercedes Sony to Microsoft? Then again, it seems as though I’m making them look like the bad guys, so on and so forth.
Ford and Mercedes is an apt analogy, because there is in fact a sub-$35,000 model (the C300 I believe), meaning the average joe can afford one. According to the US Census Bureau’s statistics for 2002, the average US salary was $36,674. I am sure it is much higher than that now. Your annual is what you’re supposed to be able to afford in an automobile, just ask a car salesman. I can afford a Mercedes, and I don’t make six figures yet.
Whether coke or pepsi is better is subjective. I prefer the sugary flavor of pepsi, although I do enjoy an occasional coke.
So basically you’re saying Sony ripped off Microsoft because it keeps track of stuff you have accomplished in a game. Right? So by that you mean that Microsoft robbed the creators of games like Pirates (PC), New Horizons (Sega Genesis), and so on, which tracked accomplishments before anyone ever even thought of Microsoft making consoles. Assigning a point value to an accomplishment is probably the only thing that is original about achievements, and from what I have heard, Sony’s system doesn’t necessarily attach a point value to accomplishments.
I will readily agree that they chose to track your accomplishments because of the ‘popularity’ of Live’s achievement system, but to call it a direct rip-off is a wrong choice of words in my opinion. Then again, what’s so ‘great’ about a gamerscore? Some people pad it with lousy games that have easy achievements, while others only have games they like on it. Some people rent games and have huge gamerscores without finishing any of those games.
hey for a start sony didnt copy ms and also capcom made devil may cry not sony it has only been published on sony and xbox 360!!!
