A lot of PS3 games require installs to minimize loading times, etc. Devil May Cry 4 steps up with the longest loading time to date. According to CVG, the install clocked in at 21 minutes 41 seconds. Holy shit.
Seriously, how much data are the caching to the hard drive? Any why does it need to take so long? Our copies of the game haven’t gotten here yet, so we can confirm anything first hand, but we’ll keep you posted.

What are you talking about!? It only took me a few minutes to install it on my ps3.
CJ – all sites that have the game already are pointing to the fact that it takes over 20 minutes to install the game to the PS3 hard drive, during which time you get to see a retrospective of the previous DMC games. This is a mandatory installation.
Then maybe something wierd happened, cuz I hit install and less than 5 minutes later I was playing the game.

I have to say mister needles, I really don’t understand your extreme fanboyism for the Xbox 360. As a matter of fact, I don’t understand any extreme fanboyism. You don’t have a stake in the console, and you don’t benefit from someone buying any of them. So why hate on something you don’t have? Sure the PS3 has had a bumpy start, but you can’t say the 360 has been anywhere near perfect either.
I know I should stop, but every now and then on live I hear a bunch of people bitch on the 360 and praise the ps3, so I guess I fall into the habit of the other extreme. My bad homies.
I’m not saying stop, don’t get wrong. I want everyone here to be free to express whatever they think. I’m honestly just trying to understand. I actually spent a bunch of time thinking about this a couple weeks ago. I just can’t grasp fanboyism and why someone would get so bent out of shape about one console doing good or bad.
Well I wouldn’t call what I do fanboyism. I merely find it worth a chuckle to identify anything negative about the PS3 and “fuel the fire”. For some reason, it’s addicting to debate with people how what they have sucks ass as to what I have. Perhaps it has something to do with the subconscious?

I think that from my point of view, no console is or will ever be perfect. There’s major pros and cons to every one, so it’s tough to get so behind one product when there’s a few other great ones on the market as well.

Well I don’t consider myself a fanboy of Playstation, but I can deffinetely tell you I hate Microsoft, and it started way before Xbox. I choose to support thier products as least as possible, beacuase really, they do the same. I can’t seem to stay away from Microsoft(for my PC) and EA, but both of those companys don’t care at all about the comsumer. All they want is money, money, money. If only more companys could be like Blizzard. Blizzard doesn’t care about release dates, they only release something when they find it to be done. They don’t rush games out, and they support them. They are STILL supporting Starcraft and making patches once and awhile. That game is 10 years old! I think the oldest game EA is supporting is 3 years old, which would be Battlefield 2. If more companys were like Blizzard, the comsumer would be much happier. DX10 would work on XP. Vista wouldn’t suck. XP wouldn’t have sucked before SP2. Every other Windows(with the exception of 2000 pro) wouldn’t have sucked. Windows ME would never have even been a concept. Madden would be a much better game, granted it is fun, but it could be so much more. You would still be able to play C&C Generals online. Anyone else agree?
