Everyone’s favorite cheat code is in the lyrics of a song on the Juno Soundtrack. “Anyone Else But You” by The Moldy Peaches contains the cool line:
Up up down down left right left right B A start
Just because we use cheats doesn’t mean we’re not smart
The song is performed by the two main characters at the end of the movie, but the Konami Code doesn’t make it into the movie, but does make the soundtrack. The movie’s pretty cool too, not just the one line from the soundtrack. Check if out if you haven’t seen it.

Write a Comment»so I know I’ve lost a lot of brain cells since I was 8 but I could swear it was Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Righ B A B A Select Start… Does anyone else remember the second “BA” and the “Select”?? I may have to dig out the olde nintendo and see for myself.
Bella - you are correct. The Moldy Peaches just refer to a shortened version of the code in the song. At least, that’s what I took away from it when I heard the song. I highly recommend the movie and also purchasing the soundtrack which features a fair share of songs by Kimya Dawson and Adam Green. From what I know, they actually don’t play together that much anymore but Adam Green has been spotted playing with Ben Kweller in Brooklyn recently.
Hate to break it to you both, but the above code is correct. You could always put in the second “B A”, but it was never necessary. The Select button was using in Contra to switch from 1 player to 2 player, but otherwise is not 100% needed.
