An astute gamer over at the ScoreHero forums found an official Rock Band mic at retail the other day. It ran him $50, which seems a bit steep just for the mic. Anyway, thats not the big news here. What’s really big is that the packaging says it’s works for PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Come again?
EA and Harmonix have been very hush about a possible Wii version. Does the standalone mic hitting retail early spill the beans on the secret project? I’m pretty sure a Wii version would sell like hot cakes. I’m just worried about DLC on the console, as the built in memory won’t hold more than a couple songs, and currently Nintendo hasn’t made it possible to access saved content from an SD card during play.
We’ll keep you posted as things progress.

Write a Comment»Nintendo has a good thing going with the new gaming styles they’ve invented, but they just can’t nail the hardware dealies. Therefore I propose the union of microsoft and nintendo. Imagine, Wii 360!!!
On the mic though I thought rock band already came out for Wii. And this mic might also be used for kariokey (I know I misspelled it) revolution for the wii, or whatever singing stuffs they have for the Wii. And I know but I can’t help it: CHECK IT OUT I’M SINGING TO MY WII!!!
It might be usable for one of the karaoke games, if we were to see a drum set saying made for all three THEN we can make bigger assumptions, idk im not completely convinced yet…
Wii Boogie comes with a mic, maybe the rock band mic can serve as a player 2 mic?
