A demo for the first killer app of 2008 has finally been released in demo form for the Xbox 360 and PS3. We were lucky enough to download the game early to avoid the obvious bandwidth letdown that ensues. First of all, the graphics are amazing. This game looks gorgeous on both systems. The shading and light textures will really set the bar for future releases. The controls are solid as usual and in the demo you get the choice of locking on and shooting or slashing. You also have the option to use the Devil Bringer, a demonic device that is on Nero’s arm.
The first mission is a timed level called Exterminator where you have 10 minutes to make your way through a destroyed city and church. The only fault here it is that is timed. It would have been fun to explore the level a little more, but demos usually are short. The second mission, called Executioner, takes place on a icy mountain level. You make your way up the mountain and engage enemies until you reach an enormous castle which contains a city of its own. Next you get to meet Berial, the level boss. How to beat him, well, find out for yourself.
The controls felt a little tighter on the PS3 version simply because that is what the game was designed to be on and that’s what we used to from previous DMC games. The Xbox 360 is virtually identical to its PS3 counterpart, but it does have rumble. You can’t go wrong with either version. The difficulty was not as hard as expected. Newcomers will have no problem picking this up. We may just have out first Game of the Year candidate already folks. We cannot wait for the full version coming next month.

Write a Comment»Demo is insanely fun. I think the controls are definitely better on PS3. Graphics are about equal. Even though the PS3 version doesn’t rumble yet, I think I’m going to pick up for that console because of the better controls
Good god man. PROOF READ BEFORE POSTING!
Proof read what? I don’t see any mistakes. Nice use of caps to emphasize your point.
The demo does have rumble. In fact, out of all the games I played with the dualshock3(import) it has the strongest rumble yet. Also, all that graphic hype is true. The game does look really amazing.
It looked phenomenal. I am a tard though and couldn’t get out of the church on the 10 minute demo haha. Console noob for the lose!
I’me with toeknee. If you have a DualShack 3, the rumble is somethin’ fierce.
downloading as we speakm, can’t wait.
“The Xbox 360 is virtually identical to its PS3 counterpart, but it does have rumble.”
The PS3 version also supports rumble, if you have a dual shock 3…
I’m not a huge fan of hack and slash games, but I actually found this demo to be pretty fun. I think I might actually buy it.
I was a big fan of the first DMC, not so much with the others. I’ll try this demo, but I would sure like the rumble. When does dual shock 3 come out?
