From the looks of the survey sent to to Asian PlayStation Network users, Sony seems to be thinking of launching a subscription-based PSN. Don’t get worked up, this doesn’t mean you’re paying for PSN access… it’s still free. What this means is you’ll pay one monthly fee for access to all PSN and PS1 Classics games.
Just think, $5 or $10 a month to play every PlayStation Network title and PS1 Classic on both your PS3 and PSP. Sounds pretty damn good to me. It would be even more appealing if Sony started releasing more PS1 Classics… maybe one or two a week via the Thursday updates? The PS1 has such a huge library of games, they could easily go 10 years with 1-2 games per week available.
Requests to SCEA for comment were not immediately returned. Maybe we’ll hear something at CES next week or GDC in February?

I don’t know, it sounds ok but.. eh, I think psn needs more demos.
They can keep their pay service, I’ll stick with the free one. What they should do is release a firmware update that allows me to rip my PS1 games to the PS3’s HDD (and xfer to PSP) rather than making me buy it again.
