Taking a page from the Sony book, Nintendo is now moving to make the Wii and the DS the closest of friends. In a recent statement, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime said that the DS will be able to be linked to the Wii via WiFi for information sharing purposes. Here is his statement to the New York Times courtesy of PC World:
Future DS devices will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console. [...] Complete games as well as [demos] will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS.
This is a major step for the DS owners out there who will want the latest updates and without this service would not be able to get them.

While this is terrific news, I’m slightly concerned with “future DS devices” part. Does that mean current DS/DS Lite won’t be able to do this? Unless they release a first part SD card adapter, there’s nowhere to store the demos, etc on the device.
This is a great idea and a long time coming, the average DS ROM is tiny, less than 150 MB, so you can put a bunch of games on a card and move them over to your DS, like pandas says though I am not sure where you will be saving them to on the current formats?
good going Nintendo, I like when there’s a bonus for owning both
