Prosecutors on Wednesday charged two teen babysitters with one count each of Felony Child Abuse causing death for beating a 7 year old to death while imitating move from a Mortal Kombat videogame.

Lamar Roberts – 17 and Heather Trujillo – 16 were babysitting Trujillo’s half sister, Zoe Garcia on December 6th. The pair apparently decided to get drunk and proceed to kick, bodyslam and beat the 7 year old Garcia using moves they were imitating from the popular game series. The young girl eventually lost consciousness and stopped breathing. After attempting to revive the girl, the couple called her mother and dialed 911. It was too late however, Zoe Garcia died in the hospital that night. A witness stated that Garcia had told them to stop. When asked by the witness, Roberts and Trujillo why they didn’t that said “I don’t know, I was drunk”.

The autopsy revealed that Garcia suffered bleeding from the under her spine, her neck muscles, had more than twenty bruises, a broken wrist and swelling in her brain.

Roberts and Trujillo are being held in Weld county jail. Depending on how things go, they could be facing up to 48 years in prison.

Way to be assholes kids. You get exactly what you deserve.
