PlayStation Network Cards Coming Soon [Update]

PSN Card

Sony will be unleashing PlayStation Network Cards soon in North America. How do we know this? Because we got one today in the mail. Check out the picture above. These cards have been available in Japan since launch of the PS3, but soon they’ll be coming to a retail store near you. We can’t say for sure when you’ll be able to pick these up, but we’ve got some feelers out and will let you know as soon as we get word from Sony.

Basically, these will allow you to buy things on the PlayStation Store without having to put a credit card into the system. So if you hate using credit cards online or just plain don’t have one, these PSN Cards will be your meal ticket. Oh, removing a credit card is pretty darn easy in the Account Management section of the PlayStation Store as well if you want to get rid of your plastic and go pre-paid.

(Sorry for the not so great quality of the picture. I snapped it with my iPhone without any lights on in my living room.)

[Update] Sony has said the cards will be available at retail in early 08.
