[Update] Xbox Live to Offer Free Games with Update for 5 Year Anniversary

Xbox Live will turn 5 years old this week and they offer their members a present of sorts. Official MS press release says:

As a gesture of thanks to the community, all eight-million members will have the opportunity to download a free Xbox LIVE Arcade game, between 08:01 a.m. on 15th November 15 and 7:59 a.m. on 17th November. In addition to this, every active Gold member who joined the service at launch will receive 500 MS Points for free.

No word what the game would be, but you know me. If its free, I’m buying. Let’s just hope that their connection issues resolve in time for the giveaway.

[Update] The free Xbox Live title will be Carcassonne, the same addicting strategy game I have been hearing a lot about. There will also be several free themes that include Xbox Live is 5ive, Gears of War, Halo 2, Ghost Recon 2, Mechassault, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Here is what the blades look like.
