Rumor - Xbox 360 to Get Downloadable Xbox Games

Xbox 360 Spring Update Screen

Next-Gen.biz got some details on the next Xbox 360 Dashboard Update, tentatively scheduled for December 4th. According to the news post:

Microsoft told the Official Xbox Magazine that the update, scheduled for December 4, will allow Xbox 360 owners to download classic titles such as Halo, Fable, Crash Bandicoot and Burnout 3 via Xbox Live Marketplace for around 1200 Microsoft points per title. As time goes by, the platform holder reportedly hopes to make as much of the original Xbox’s back catalog of titles available to Xbox 360 owners as possible.

The news is credited to a story from CVG which has since been removed. This makes me think this new feature is real. Microsoft wouldn’t ask CVG to remove a story if it was just hearsay. However, take this with a grain of salt for now until we get official word from Microsoft. We’ll keep you posted.

Sounds like a good idea. That would get some people to buy older games that they missed out on. The only problem is going to be size. Maybe I should have opted that extra $50 to get the elite instead of the Halo :)
    Well… I did get a 65nm chip with the Halo edition…
