Jack Thompson Files Best Buy Lawsuit; Endorses Ban on Manhunt 2

Our favorite anatomically incorrect seeker of justice is at it again. Chuckles, the pseudonym for the man whom we do not speak of, is filing a lawsuit against Besy Buy reports Gamepolitics. His rationale is that Best Buy is willingly selling mature rated video games to minors via their website because there is no identification checks and balances system. It is common knowledge that a minor cannot possess a credit card and using one is enough proof of age. I do not know who keeps funding this dipshit but I do know that Best Buy has a lot more money. Sometimes the rich do win and in this case, I hope they do.

Another tidbit from the “Department of Redundancy Department”, Chuckles has decided that he does endorse the ban on Manhunt 2, the once AO rated, now Mature, gore fest reports Gamepolitics. Does anyone really give a shit? Since when did not endorsing something matter? I don’t endorse wearing condoms, but does that in any way slight the condom selling world? Does Trojan care that I pull out and pray? Nope. Nor do we care. We will see Little Chuckles clad in a mustache and glasses trying to buy this game and eventually sue Rockstar. Its like the diplomat of some jerk ass country condemning what America does. We hear you dude, but we are not listening.

Yes, Trojan does care. They don’t want your babies running around. Nor do I or the rest of the civilized world for that matter

The only thing I disagree about is about minors having credit cards. I know at least 8 kids that are minors that have their own credit cards.

Yo. Jack Thompson needs to chill. He needs to worry about how you can watch porn for free on “On demand”, and less about rated M video games. That means that any kid that has SOME knowledge on how to use on demand can watch porn any time they want…

Get your priority’s straight, and get rid of that wig.

    Heh… Except I’m 16… But yea…

I was playing Doom when I was young though. You gotta watch out for bullying, T.V, movies, books (plenty of them that show you how to blow up shit). Video games are just part of the equation, and its not easy to get your hands on them.

Times I’ve been ID’ed (and I don’t look young either, Igrow out a goatee type thing when I get bored… lol).
Going to the movies (always asked).
Bestbuy (Okay, this is what pisses me off. The guy at the bestbuy counter has a pop up that comes up when they try to sell a M rated game, it asks to check for the purchasers ID before sale).

What… What does Mel Gibson have to do with Jack Thompson… lol

And video games only affect a very small portion of children. The children who it effects are usually kids who are bullied in school, and kids who just have mental disorders with anger and experience a lot of violence at home through their family whether it be abuse, or other things. Playing these types of games can really trigger things in their minds. However, this is a very small percentage of the population, I could compare it to something else but I really don’t feel like it right now.

There are so many bad things out there besides videogames. How about we try to tackle the issues of kids getting pulled into gangs at a young age and ending up in prison for a good portion of their life. Sound good Jack?

Oh and feel free to disagree with me. I really don’t care, I’m just here to post my comments on it, I won’t get mad at anyone if you want to disagree, so feel free to.

I disagree with you, fragloser, just to disagree. (???)

But seriously, this guy is just craving attention at this point. The anti-video games rampage is way over, he’s just missed the train and wants his 15 now.

    FragLoser and GameHard,

I am assuming that your credit card is co-signed with your parents. Because as far as I know a minor can not be held legally responsible to any contract. So, it is your parents legal responsibility to pay the bill (and it will be their credit that is affect if the bill isn’t paid). Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think so.

Now, personally, I think if a parent gives their kid a credit card for general use, then that same parent would also not care about the kid getting M rated games, or at least trusts their kid to make good decisions.

Yea. The card is co-signed with my parents. They approve all the purchases though. I played Doom with my friend Evan when we were like 6-7, then moved onto Quake III when we were 10-12, them moved on into CS. I’ve been playing FPS forever, I just moved to consoles though… And during middle school I decided to quit playing games and focus more on school/social life. What a great decision
