GTA4 Gets 16 Player Multiplayer

It’s been confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV will have an online multiplayer component. Now we find out that you’ll be able to play with 16 people online. According to Gaming Excellence:

We also understand that the game’s multiplayer mode, unseen in the GTA franchise since GTA2 in 1999*, is aiming for at least 16 simultaneous players, with more than just the usual deathmatch mode.

Giddy up. Crackdown took the sandbox games online in a great way, and Saints Row did a decent job as well. I’m sure the leader of the genre will step it up a notch and show everyone how to really do online play.

    @Biggame James - hahhaha, you can do that now in Halo 3! I love stealing people’s ghosts and then splattering them. >=)

    I’m hoping it has 8-on-8 gang wars. Then we can put together a Loot-Ninja gang and tear it up.
