It looks like you might be trying to steal the Holy Grail in Assassin’s Creed, as this trailer shows the Knights Templar plotting to kill you. The mention Altair wanting to steal their treasure, and they must protect it.
The game is looking really cool and I can’t wait to play it.

It’s hard to tell who’s good and bad here. Since you’re playing Altair, the general feeling would be that he’s the good guy. In a historical perspective, the Knights Templar are supposedly the guardians of the Holy Grail. According to documentation, they semi black-male’d the Vatican with the information. Could it be Altair is working with the Catholic Church to stop them and get back the Grail? Is that the main objective of the game. For now, we don’t know.
I believe they were Teutonic Knights and not Templars, but I could be mistaken.
The Knights of St. Lazarus have heraldry more in keeping with that which was worn by the characters shown here. The heraldry for the Knights of the Order of the Holy Spirit is also similar. The Cross of the Teutonic knights is different, but they seem more appropriate than Templars.
not bad that was a pretty good trailer and it certainly got the point across.
They are neither Templars nor Teutonic Knights…they are the third order Hospitallers.
