I downloaded the demo for PixelJunk Racers on the PS3 the other day and played around a bit with it. The game is fun, but a bit weird. Basically, you control a little track racer car and try to complete various objectives and win the race.

There’s a bunch of game modes, with only a few available in the demo. There’s mode to overtake a certain number of other racers, manage your speed to stay in a target circle, and plowing over other cars. The controls are fairly simple, with the triggers each working as a gas pedal and the d-pad used to change lanes. The graphics aren’t anything to write home about, with the cars being small colored rectangles on the screen.

I’m not sure this game is really worth the purchase. I might spend some more time with the demo, but I don’t see myself dropping $6.99 on this one.
