So I got a copy of Tiger Woods 08 for PS3 and have been playing around a bunch today (thanks to getting the flu). I tried to get my photo game face on, but there’s been some issues.
First off, I tried using my Xbox Live Vision camera plugged into the PS3. After the console sat and computed stuff for over 20 minutes, it spit out an image that looked like Sloth from The Goonies. Yeah, that didn’t work out too well.
So then I set out to get it working online. EA has some of the worst servers I’ve seen around, and it’s been pretty much down whenever I’ve tried to go on today to get it setup. If you try to upload a photo and it just sits there forever.
Anybody had any luck getting the Photo Game Face to work well and have some tips for for setting up the placement dots when using a USB Camera on the system?

However, he did mention it took quite a while to place all the points on his face and for it to compute it all out. But he said with some time you really can make it look like yourself.
Yeah I’m having issues too, but I’m curious if it’s a PS3/Xbox issue; because it seems 360 users have better luck with it than us PS3 users. I started by upoading my face pics onto the website, which yes, the EA servers/web site is just bizarre. I had to sign up for like 2 or 3 different logins/passwords, AND create an EA/Avatar. Then I had to register for the Playstation Network, which was also a pain because it took forever to finally get a login name that they would accept.
At this point, I have 2 face pics on the servers, but the game will STILL not recognize or find them. So I’ve decided that I’m going to try plugging in a USB camera directly into the PS3 (or a webcam maybe), and also maybe try uploading from a USB key. If that doesn’t work, I’m just gonna say screw it…I’m not that desperate to see my ugly mug rendered into a game anyway. Here’s hoping EA can make this potentially cool feature a little more user friendly in the future.
