Assassin’s Creed is coming this November for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. But what kinds of differences will we see between the two console versions? BBPS got a chance to ask that exact question of Mathieu Mazerolle, the Lead Engineer on Assassin’s Creed. Here’s what they found out:
Our goal is to ship the two versions of [Assassin’s Creed] to be within 5% or less of difference between each other. That doesn’t mean the PS3 is 5% “better” or “worse”, it’s really just an approximation and a statement that while the two versions are very similar, there will be (as there always is) small, hopefully inperceptible, differences between the two versions within a very small threshold.
Hopefully they can achieve that goal and the differences will really be imperceptible. If not, expect fanboy wars to ensue. I’m still undecided as to which platform I’ll be using to stealth killing people in the Middle Ages.
I sincerely hope they strive to make the games as close to identical as possible. I don’t mind if they throw in a secret console-exclusive character (like Soul Calibur did a few years ago, as well as Xmen Legends II)
Well considering I dont have a PS3 yet, my choice is pretty obvious. But you would think they would want to keep it as close to possible like the rep said, so all is good.
The 5% difference is that the main character is the girl from Heavenly Sword in a assassins robe on the PS3. Heh I wonder what the sales would look like if they did that.
5% is nothing, for all we know it’s just features the 360 couldn’t handle or vise versa. I’ll be playing on the 360, but who knows if my dad decides to buy me a PS3 (if my grade are good enough) then maybe I’ll be playing on the PS3, I geuss we’ll see…
