I’ve put in a lot of time with both the PS3 and Xbox 360 demos of Tiger Woods 08. My average score is 5 under for the 3 holes (I did get a 7 under once). Comparing the two, I personally would have to side with the Xbox 360 version.
The 360 version clearly looks better. I have both my PS3 and 360 hooked up with HDMI and to my 1080p DLP. The 360 version looks sharper with better colors. The PS3 version seemed a bit washed out with less defined lines and edges.
I personally prefer the PlayStation controller for my Tiger Woods gaming, because that’s what I’m most used to. However both controllers felt layed out properly and the controls were tight.
So if you’re debating, based on the demos, I’d say get the Xbox 360 version. EA has stated they don’t put much effort into the PS3 versions, which explains the graphical differences.

EA sucks for selling out to Microsoft. They deserve what they get from it. Too bad I’ll be skipping all EA games for any system I own because of their greed. No back to Warhawk.
Yeah EA has been on a downhill path for a while now. I’m not getting this year’s Tiger Woods game. It’ll be the first I don’t get, because it’s just really not worth it.
Their games might suck, but the mass market loves them, and where EA goes they go. EA was one of the major reasons PS2 killed Dreamcast and beat Xbox. If the tables are turned you can imagine what will happen, especially with Halo as Xbox exclusive, and GTA multi platform.
Screw EA, ever since they decided to not support CnC Generals anymore, I’ve hated them. And like oldest gamer said, back to WarHawk

Wait for Hotshots Golf 5. Im playing the import and the graphics are way better and online play is really good too. Plus Tiger Woods is such a boring game..
Yeah yeah… Xbox 360 version looks better…. everyone knows that… stop comparing games… we know the 360 version looks better when it doesn’t crash… Personally, I prefer a game that works and doesn’t look as crisp than a game that look a little bit sharper and crashes after… hem… 20 seconds because the console was built using toilette paper… (cheaper, less reliable)
Well. As synce said, the mass market loves their games, and usually will buy them every single year to have the latest and (greatest?) game. One of the main reasons that they are doing so well is because of madden. If anybody remembers ESPN 2K4/2K5, those were amazing games. ESPN football had cheerleaders on the side of the field (just realistic), and they had a full halftime report, where he went over what player did the best in what field. Then when madden bought the right to the NFL, they just figured they could get lazy because they didn’t have to improve since ESPN wasn’t nipping at their heels.
Why they ‘didn’t really put much effort into the PS3 version’ drives me crazy. Personally I don’t have a PS3 but still i believe every game should be made as if as it’s the next halo or Bioshock inorder to make it the best that it can be. Your post was a little confusing fragloser are you saying that the producers of Madden got lazy? or the 2K producers? Because if your saying that the Madden producers got lazy then I would have to disagree after recently buying Madden 08 and discovering how truly refined it is from the graphics, to the controls, to the little things like replays and the sprint halftime report, and etc. But hey that’s just me…
Did you already set the display setting for ps3, RGB FULL and super white on for the HDMI setting coz it really does affect a lot for outputting same final display like the XBOX 360 does?
