Microsoft has agreed to give customers free retrofits to their wireless racing wheel for the Xbox 360 after getting reports of malfunctioning components in the wheel.
MS says that they have gotten over 50 incident reports worldwide of a component in the racing wheel overheating and releasing smoke when used with the AC/DC power supply. This isn’t a recall but a retrofit, so of the 230,000 wheels sold not all will come back and customers can use their discretion.
This is just another notch in the belt of hardware problems it seems for the folks at MS, the RROD cluster F, the power supply recall and now the racing wheel issues. Seems that MS makes everyhting out of hot fire! Maybe MS should invest in liquid cooling systems for all their hardware?

I think Microsoft needs to seriously invest in some QA because they’ve had more hardware problems than any company I can think of in recent times.
