Looks like right now Halo 3 is edging out Bioshock by a handful of votes. Surprisingly Stranglehold has been left in the dust.
Will the loss of dedicated servers for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 affect your purchase?
- No way in heck. I wanted it for the multiplayer experience. (83%, 278 Votes)
- I'm a little miffed, but still buying it. (13%, 44 Votes)
- BAH, the multiplayer is full of aim-bots, and cheaters anyways. I'm buying it for the single player campaign. (4%, 13 Votes)
Total Voters: 335

I’ve played around with the Bioshock demo a couple times now and it’s definitely a fun game. I’ve still got to say that Halo 3 gets my vote out of the three.
Stranglehold: I have completely played out my Stranglehold demo and it definitely kicks ass, but it also can be a bit boring at parts. My main example is the one section where you’re basically stuck in this alleyway section, while enemies keep pouring out around you. Maybe that part would be more fun, if it weren’t so…repetitive. You basically have to run around trying to dodge and take out enemies that come out of the same three doors. I just think they should have made it so once they come out a door, they never come out that door again. That just would have made more sense to me. My other problem is that there are only four special moves and it would appear you’re stuck with the same amount of tequilla time through the whole game.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun game. I absolutely love the super destructable environments, and the four special moves. It’s just not worth the $60 price tag, especially when I could easily get my fill of it from Gamefly.
Bioshock: Now I have definitely not played my Bioshock demo as much as my Stranglehold one, so I dont really have as much to say. I will say that I love the plasmids that it lets you use and the ones it shows in the video look even more fun! The story also seems to be more complex than Stranglehold’s, which is a plus for me. I’ve been reading things on the interwebz about the game, and my main concern seems to be everybody elses. The lack of an actual flashlight. I haven’t done research on the game, so I dont know if they actually have one in the final build or not. Definitely a problem in the demo.
Before the Bioshock demo was released, Stranglehold was definitely in 2nd place after Halo 3. Now it’s bumped down. I’m almost even tempted to actually buy this game, since it looks like it’ll definitely have some replayability. It just doesn’t compare to Halo.
Halo 3: Yes, I know it’s more of the same. That isnt a bad thing when more of the same equals out to refined/expanded pwn. If Halo didn’t have the amazing co-op or multiplay, than Bioshock very well might be tied or possibly even above it. It’s because of those, along with the same things that make Bioshock great(amazing story, kick ass arsenal, bitchin’ AI, detailed environment, etc.), that Halo gets my vote.
It’s not even completely those things. If anything, the fact that Halo has been around for awhile now helps it get my vote. I’m a guy who likes to play with friends(that is why I also preordered Super Smash Bros Brawl today when I preordered Halo 3), so of course Halo appeals to me. Since it’s been around for so long, more people I know can play it/want it. My brother and I can just jump into some co-op(now we could even join our friends online), and have some fun experiencing Campaign. Or we could team up in some multiplayer action, which is always fun when it comes to Halo.
Even after all that, Bungie still finds time to add new features to the game. Features such as map editor(Forge I believe it’s called), film capturing/sharing/editting, and 4 player co-op. Just listening to the Bungie podcast(which I’ve been doing recently), you can tell that they put a lot of effort into their game and really care about it. Not only that but they understand the fans, and know how to make the game how we want it.
Sorry for the total overkill read there, but just thought I’d go into detail as to why I chose Halo 3.
I still choose Halo 3 cause i havent played bioshock or stranglehold.
