I have to say that the original Hexic that came with the Xbox 360 was a fun game and really kept me playing it for hours on end. Unfortunately the sequel, Hexic 2, did not have the same effect. To be fair I only tried the demo, but it just felt awkward and forced.

The game in essence is the same but they have added in battle, survival and marathon modes. The modes are actually kind of cool, but the game play is what turned me off. You still spin pieces and break gems, but now there are powers and different pieces, that thoroughly confused me. As far as graphics the game tried hard to make sure it could shine in HD, but it got darker and lost it’s happy go lucky feeling. Also for some reason now there is a wavy background behing the gems, which was giving me vertigo.

Bottom line is the game is 800 MS points ($10) and it just did not feel justified, I will just stick to the original thanks. As for the other arcade title Ecco the Dolphin, I did not even waste my HDD space, sorry folks.
