Thats right you heard it right, tonight Times Square will play host to “Maddenoliday.” Xbox has teamed up with EA Sports to host an exclusive event with quite a few NFL greats.

I wonder how many people will attend these midnight openings across the nation as well as the great “Maddenoliday”? I can see Halo having such a strong following, but Madden I just can’t see, especially after the last few iterations on the next generation consoles, ‘06 and ‘07 were not games to be so proud of.

The event will have Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Jamal Anderson and Eric Dickerson. Times Square will be branded Xbox 360, and there will be no doubt for everyone witnessing the spectacle that the place you want to play the latest version of Madden is on Xbox 360.

Some things to look forward to later today:

- At midnight, former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber will hand off the first copy of Madden NFL 08 on Xbox 360, at ToysRUs in Times Square.
- From 5 – 9 p.m., the best Madden players in the world face off on Xbox 360 during the Madden Challenge Masters.
- From 8 – 11 p.m., Dickerson, Bettis, Faulk and Anderson will be doing interviews, and talking a bit about the game on Xbox 360.
- 10:00 – 11:00 p.m. will feature the athletes competing against each other on Xbox 360, on the ABC Building screen.
- At midnight, we’ll re-create the classic New Years Eve ball drop with, you guessed it, the Madden NFL 08 box cover for Xbox 360.
