This much anticipated demo is believed to be the reason for the Xbox Live crash yesterday. Apparently so many people were downloading it, it brought he servers to their knees. After playing it, twice, the game could be a monster. The game is designed after Chinese action movies that are purposely over the top in action and stunts. Think Chow Yun Fat who is the main character and many of the things he has done. The story revolves around the death of a cop and Inspector Tequila’s(Fat) fight to find out the killer. Though this is a third person shooter, it is a little far from realistic, but that is intended.
The game took a piece from the James Bond games where you can use the environment to your advantage for some skill kills. The better the kill will fill up your Tequila Bomb meter that allows for your special moves such as health, an super accurate shot, and a barrage attack. These are essential when their are dozens of enemies shooting at you. In the demo you will have a pair of pistols, then a shotgun that can be picked up.
Note: If you beat the demo on casual or demo, you will be able to use the barrage attack the next time through.
The game really shines in the visual department. The environments are extremely interactive and by pulling LT, you are able to slide on tables, dive back, run up bannisters and pretty much do whatever you want all while shooting away. The more you use the environments, the better your skill kills will be and your meter will fill up that much faster.
The first board was on rails but you can expect the future levels to be that much better. This is one demo that has sure created a positive buzz and will likely make this a must have this holiday season.
My only dilemna will be if i get it for my 360 or my new PS3 (which I havent bought yet) but the PS3 version will have Hard Boiled on BluRay, although no achievements??
You can find a Golden Pistol in the game too. There’s one part of the demo (the area where you have to shoot the telephone pole to progress over a fence) where you can run up another pole. You’re on the right pole if you see a paper crane along the way.
Go all the way around and you’ll eventually see the prompt, ‘hold X to pick up’ the Golden Gun. And there you go.
You can only hold 2 weapons though, and the Golden Gun seems to have limited ammo (since you can’t reload from other people’s guns… they don’t have it!).
Also, if you beat the demo a 2nd time (I played on ‘Normal’ the 2nd time), you unlock the Spin Attack or whatever it’s called, that lets you kill everyone in the room. Cool stuff.
I’m probably going to get this on PS3 just because it has Hard Boiled included in the special edition

You can also get more golden guns. 1 at the telephone pole as described above and then there is a secret room that you have to shoot the door out and there are two golden guns laying on a table, along with a birdcage.

At the end of the demo, during the last gunfight you can find dual SMG’s. They have 100 shots.
If you want to use them, run right through the swarm of people shooting at you and turn to your left a little before you reach the door with the health next to it. You should see a doorway covered with wood, shoot it with your pistol or shotgun and behind it will be two SMG’s attached to the walls.
