Rumor Mill: Lair (PS3) Delayed [Update - Confirmed]

Lair - EB Delay

According to EB Games, Lair has been delayed until September 4th from it’s previously scheduled August 12th release date. Gamefly has also changed it’s release date, but they’re showing September 6th (most likely to account for getting enough copies in to rent to customers). Screenshots taken in case they change it back (EB Games above, Gamefly after the jump).

We’ve previously heard the game has gold gold directly from Sony. What could be causing the delay? Either they pulled the game to fix a last minute issue or they ran into some production problems. Either way, this doesn’t bode well for Sony.

The game looks now to be releasing on the same date as Heavenly Sword. If this rumor proves to be true, Lair will certainly get overshadowed.

Best Buy has moved it to 9/15, even later than EB/Gamestop.

Is it true this game supposedly sucks? I heard it got like a 6 on a reputable review site. I mean, a 6 is not terrible but this game was and still could be a huge title.

The game has seen early reviews all over the board. Everyone has said the graphics and everything are great except the SIXAXIS controls. There’s no standard controls with the analog sticks in the game, only the SIXAXIS motion control.

Rumors are flying around the intarwebs that Factor 5 delayed Lair because of the early reviews so they could add the standard controls back into the game. I don’t really see how that’s possible in such a short amount of time though. The game is only delayed for 3 weeks.
