Does this also have 65nm chip?

My first 360 was manufactured june 06 and broke down oct 07,it would have lived a little longer if i hadn't had played Orange box for 12 hours straight. My second is well only 3-4 days old...we'll see

I have a launch PS2 that still works great, 100%. I got the letter about the recall, but I ignored it(if it ain't broke, don't fix it). Did Sony charge for the repairs?

My launch Xbox had disc read errors after about two or three months, and has had them since. Microsoft wanted me to pay for the repair, so I still have a defective Xbox.

My launch Dreamcast worked great, but I burned out the DC inverter playing a 18-hour marathon of Phantasy Star Online, but Sega repaired it free.

I have a second generation Gamecube that works great, but my brother's launch Gamecube burned out after less than a year.

My bro has a launch 360 that broke down (and the replacement was dented and cracked), but my second batch Core works fine (some dirty disc errors and lockups on 2K titles, but otherwise it's fine).

My PS3 and Wii work great, hehe my Wii works great.

I don't mind if a system has a general defect, as long as the company owns up to it and repairs it for free. But if they play the denial game for a year and then decide to give people refurbs that do not match the condition of the system sent to them, that I have a problem with.

I'm glad that Microsoft is at least learning from their mistakes and trying to correct them on the newer machines.

well i have two elites that are linked together and constantly on and have many many hours of gameplay thanks to halo3 and moh airborne, and both are quieter than any other 360 and i have yet for them to even get hot after playing them so i would say they did a better job with the elites than they have with any of the other premiums and there are big differences in the elites if you have seen one taken apart, components have been changed in size, heatsinks, and they have the new disk drives in them, hdmi port 120 gb of memory, and you still think their the same?

I just got my 360 back from repair. It's a premium system, not elite. By photographing through the vent-holes on the side, I can verify that my new XBox has these additional heat sinks. Manufacture date 8-8-2007.

The "final fix" will be the 65nm chipset to be released later this year, likely. There will be no announcement. In 2009, a 40nm chipset will likely be released that will run even cooler and better.

My 360 will still be under warranty for the red ring at that time, which means free replacements. I cool with that. You gotta take breaks from gaming now and then anyway. =)
