I came across this while reading some of the forums at NeoGaf, user Shogmaster (hats off to you man, great design and idea) came up with some sick sketches of a possible new design for the Nintendo DS, which he nicknamed the Nintendo TS.
::Update:: This is just a users rendition not a statement that new DS is in the works, my apologies if this was unclear.
Here it is in all it’s glory. He even threw in some specs and ideas for backwards compatability. I think I would buy one, looks a bit like a Nintendo Sidekick.

Everything looks good except maybe the screen res. Personally, I’d like to see somewhere in the 600s without it being to expensive. After all, I can’t really complain since the price is looking like $180
Man… I really need to read the end of posts, I keep on missing the one important thing. Well I think they should produce it, at $180 I think many people would buy it even if it is more expensive then the DS.

this is aight but why not make it widescreen like the lovely psp
idk make the controls slide from the side. it wouldnt be as hard to make and it would add extra grip to the device. i just might have to send in a sketch or something….
I donno why you all complainin dis is da best it looks really good and the specs are perfect i wouldnt mined spending up to 200$ on it. Though i think that they should add a UMD slot or atleast a big slot so we can get games that are like 2-4GB on the DS personnaly i wouldnt mind trading in my PSP and spending a 150 bucks to get a ds that has a memory card reader a DS slot a GBA slot and a another slot for heavy games and MOvies that are 4GB
Sorry Roufes, but I am pretty sure that Nintendo would never put a UMD slot in their system. UMD is created by Sony, which means that Nintendo would have to pay Sony to use a media that takes forever to load games.
The UMD was a great concept, but some games (MC3: Dub) took way to long to load using UMD.

It sure makes you wonder what Nintendo will come up with with their “DS 2″. The big screen in this artist concept of a redesign makes a lot sense and I think is a rather cool idea. Handheld games these days are coming out with 3D gameplay, Nintendo really needs to consider adding 2 joysticks this time around. I mean, that’s nothing new. But if you know Nintendo, you can garantee thay’ll add some sort of motion sensor with it. Looking forward to it, but just how long do we have to wait. *sigh*
i love it and have some iders to go on it as well i have been trying to make a desine and now i have seen this it is a lot easy to but them on i want to make it than just a ds to play games i want to make it a lot more than just that i think hu made this up is amazzing lol
