Mom and Dad didn’t get you a wii not because they don’t love you or you were an awful child this year, but they simply couldn’t find one. Although Nintendo claims to have about 100 games ready for this holiday season, there still is an expected shortage of Wii’s outside pure luck at a retail store or an online auction. Here is a direct quote from Nintendo, thanks to CNN:
“There is no guarantee that we are not going to have ‘out-of-stock’ this holiday season,” George Harrison, senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Nintendo of America, said in an interview. “If you see one, buy it. Don’t assume that you can come back later and find one.”
Moral of the story is that if you have a kid, loved one, hooker, or whatever that will want a Wii this holiday season and you happen to come across one, buy it now and hide it somewhere. Chances are you will have to buy a PS3 and take a second mortgage out on your house. Zing.
