Turns out, the CEO of the WWE is not really dead. His alleged car bombing last week on Monday Night RAW was a staged event and he is alive and well, probably swimming in his pool of twenty dollar bills. I have not really followed wrestling for the past 7 or so years ever since there roster has grown to Mormon sized proportions, but I saw an actual news report from a very reputable news service that Vince McMahon had been killed in a car bombing. Maybe being a little naive, I checked around and sure enough it was a stunt. Since when did car bombings become fodder for story lines in pro wrestling? I am fully aware that professional wrestling is not real and its a soap opera for men, but this seemed a little much. There are people out there right now who fully believe that this man is really dead. This isn’t a “Who shot Mr. Burns” thing, this is real people thinking a man has been killed. Remember Owen Hart? Brother of Bret “The Hitman” Hart and long time wrestler? He fell to his death in 1999 onto a ring post from a botched stunt. This guy seemed pretty upset(Click on the picture for video)
Go to www.wwe.com and read about tonight’s program. They don’t tell you this is a hoax. Is it even legal to fake a fake death? During a time where bombings and assassinations are a reality, playing on the emotions of people may just have over stepped the bounds. Furthermore, I am not a bleeding heart liberal. I’ll be voting republican next November. People accuse video games of being too realistic and are the source of all the world’s problems. At least we know the game isn’t real. I don’t have to do a google search to see if the Covenant have landed.

Well I understand you being upset but being a wrestling fan it’s not hard to spot FAKE (at least not in regards to that). You’re right, it is a soap opera for men & they have done all sorts of crazyness for storyline.. the news is they are going to tone done the “seriousness” of the staged death & make it a bit more “comedic.” The problem is not many people like this angle.. this storyline isn’t enjoyable to most people I know.
WWE has been focused on storyline so much that the actual ‘wrestling’ in the ring is boring.. same old same old.. If you want enjoyable wrestling that balances good wrestling with different angles then watch TNA on Spike TV.
Oh & a tip for people bored with WWE… don’t watch any of their ppv’s until Cena has lost the title.. otherwise, chances are he’ll just keep it… & boy I’m tired of that guy.
@ Theo: Your feedback is most appreciated. My article was written not out of upsetness, but general disdain for the angle and their preying on the ignorance of some of their fans for ratings. I agree with the storyline comment. I used to watch RAW or Nitro for the fighting, not for the microphone banter. What also turned me off was the lack of a clean finish to a match. You knew a belt or anything significant would not change on a non-PPV event with very few exceptions. Thanks for the response and keep reading!

Please tell me this is not a stunt, that Chris Benoit is or is not dead.
what’s the story, they aren’t relly saying m uch on the program.I’m sure I’m not that only one who is wondering if you guys are playing another stunt, like you did of Vince.
You don’t need to do all that for publicity.
Yes it real & is not a stunt..
They publicly announced the Vince death as storyline & changed tonight’s show to a tribute to Benoit.
What happened is that earlier this weekend Benoit left a wrestling house show saying that it was a family emergency. It was supposed to be a “touch & go” trip home, meaning he was supposed to go home in Atlanta, deal with the emergency, & come back to TX for Sunday’s PPV. He didn’t make it to Sunday’s PPV so WWE had police check on him b/c they couldn’t reach him. Police found him, his wife, & his son dead. No stab or gunshot wounds but they DO believe it was somesort of murder/suicide.
now think about it, the most.. disturbing part of this is the “family emergency” part. Something family-related happened so that he had to go home.. next thing we know is that he AND his family are dead… something is extremely perplexing about all this.
The Associated Press is reporting that cops have said it was a double Murder Suicide.
yeah in a twist of horrible irony the WWE deth gag turned on them, and then to further add insult they did a tribute to Benoit on Monday that they no longer acknowledge as the truth came out 26 hours later and made hima monster! UNreal.
