It’s been 7 months now since the Wii launched in the USA, and you still can’t walk into a store and get one. No console ever has gone this long in this scenario.
So what’s the deal? Is the demand really that high? Or is Nintendo still not pushing enough consoles to the marketplace? I’m thinking it’s somewhere in between. Whatever the case, Nintendo needs to ramp up production to fill the supply chains. If the demand really is still that high, they need to provide for everyone who wants one. People aren’t going to wait forever.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Maybe cause they cant put all the motion sensing stuff in so soon
i can score black tar heroin by noon tomorrow. i cannot score a wii. what does that tell you?
with both 360 and ps3 significantly more expensive then the wii, I’m still not too sure why nintendo didn’t flood the market, especially around the holidays, now i think people have begun to lose some interest.
Well cause everybody bought them cause they are so cheap.
Yeha I think Wii will start ot fade unless they launch some killer games, if smash bros isnt the next best hting since sliced bread my Wii is going out hte window!
Wii’s aren’t sitting around on the shelves, but they’re easy enough to find at regular price on eBay if you pay attention and don’t fall for the price-gougers. I got mine last week and only paid $350 for the system, an extra wii-mote, two classic controllers, two nunchuck, and zelda twilight princess. That’s $70 less than it would have cost in the store. And gamestop and ebgames are still taking reservations on bundle packs. I had a friend order one frome gamestop and they called him in less than a month and had his unit in. Granted it still sucks to wait a month to get your system, but they are out there. Because of this, I think it’s lack of production and/or distribution to the US rather than overly high demand that’s making them seemingly ‘unavailable’ in stores here. The system’s popularity in Japan is through the roof, and I think that most of the consoles made are ending up staying there.
