We showed you some pictures before comparing the titles, now we bring you some video footage to compare Forza 2 and Gran Turismo HD.
Personally, I think Gran Turismo HD looks slightly better.
Here’s your HD goodness.

GTHD rapes Forza 2. its an understatement to say its slightly nicer looking.. IN GT the road looks realistic.. in Forza.. the road looks like its made of of clay.. its sad.. and i own a 360.. and have yet to buy a ps3… and yet i still support ps3 more..
stupid microsoft
What you guys fail to realize is that Forza 2 has damage modeling unlike GT-HD. Take that out and Forza 2s models would look so much better! But the damage modeling adds so much more to the game along with all the customization and LOCKED 60frames a second! I own a ps3 and have played both demos. GT-HD adds nothing new to the series other then better graphics. If GT5 only does pretty graphics and tons of tracks and cars like GT4 that is nothing new to the table. I will take Froza 2 any day over GT-HD and GT5. But do not start to bash the Forza 2 demo because the graphics are just a tad below the gt-hd demo. There is so much more the game has to offer for driving and racing sim fans. If anything Polyphony Digital could learn from how Turn 10 is evolving the Froza series. I look forward to see what becomes of GT5 as well. They are both great series.
Cheers!
UM ye GTHD is crapp i hav the forza 2 demo and looks better than GT HD i ve played GT HD aswell didnt find it that good road looks dodgy when u look up close even 2 the grass evry GT series suck none of them had damage and no real sounds and that forza demo is not 100% complete and stil looks better than GT 4xaa 720p n 1080p , 60 frames , HDR Lighting wat does GT hav crapp
Can u say or nu !!!
THANX RON nice comment
Hey guys,
lookingat both videos i have to agree with the first comment, GTHD looks amazing, here are the facts GTHD was a launch title for the PS3, and Forza is a third generation xbox360 title-i mean look at the compairison they both look great. You have to expect forza to look better because its a thrid gen xbox 360 title and i have to say for a launch title thrown together for ps3 GTHD still looks the better of the two, it looks more natural, i find that forza plays alot like toca race driver 3, which is no disprespect at all as they are both fine games. For absolute control and reward GTHD , the new drifting and the ps3 pad absolutely go hand in hand to make this the finest game yet!
THE BOTH LOOK THE SAME TO ME…..I JUST LIKE FROZA BECOUSE I”V PLAYED BOTH DEMO’S AN I LIKE FROZA BETTER SO FAR
in forza the road lok not so nice like in gt hd, but dei drive physics is in forza motorsport better and the cars look better, too in forza
FORZA1 had damage models but still it came nowhere near GT4, the GT series has something that FORZA will never have.
I did not play the GTHD demo but i did played FORZA2 demo and i was not impressed one bit.
I`m only going to play FORZA2 cos there`s no other racing sim out there, and there`s still a long time till GT5
Well like i said. GTHD to me personally looks sharper, the colors are more vivid yet realistic. If you notice the draw distance is amazing in GT, in forza there is almost no detail to the background (compared to GTHD) and also, about driving physics. i can honestly say that GT has much better physics i own a force feedback steering wheel that turns a full 900 degrees and when you have a giant tv.. it feels like your driving a real car. it took me 2 years to master drifting in gt4… and it took me a week to master it in Forza . I remember back in forza 1 .. the only way to drift was to turn ON your ABS! … hahahah.. im sorry thats not simulation thats contradiction.
i will still get Forza becausei dont want to own a 360 with no games… that would be stupid. BUT im looking forward to a more solid more complete GT game that will give me a reason to put my ps2 in a closet and buy a ps3
Are you smoking crack? GTHD looks grainy and blurred compared to Forza2. Were we watching the same video???? I’m not a fanboy, I don’t care either way, I won’t own either of these games. As an objective bystander, Forza2 looked not just a little, but a lot better in this video.
sorry for double posting, but i have quick message about the whole damage modeling issuse in these 2 games..
Ok why does everyone complain about not having damage modeling in GT???? Do you guys really want to know what it feels like to drive a squased tin can???
The goal of GT is to provide a solid simulation of everyday cars and for those unfortunate enough to drive those $1M supercars, then look no further. Damage modeling makes things a little more realistic, but isnt the point of a game to go and have fun? If you guys want realism why dont you just drive a real car?
So if i understand correctly Forza Fanboys, if damage modeling is so important, then why not have a force feedback steering wheel that can also deploy an airbag if you hit a wall or another car???
If GTHD pushed more than a single car, maybe the graphic can’t be that good! Forza 2 with all his cars in displayed on the same screen look to me proportionally way better.
um its just the forza 2 demo…………graphics were getting tweaked!!!!! look at the updated pics, amazing
@
adding damage is a cool way to keep you on the edge of your seat (or whatever you’re sitting on…). If you hit the walls hard in GT, you only lose some seconds, nothing bad. In Forza you can wreck your car and completely screw your race, so as far as simulation goes, i prefer the Forza way.
I was a big GT fan in the past, but after GT3 i kinda had it with the series. It keeps being the same game with better graphics. Forza is offering something the GT series should have done years ago; damage to cars, great AI, awesome features to customize your car, online play,… If GT5 can offer me this, i’m back in the game.
You do have a good point, i’ll admit that AI in forza is much better and more aggressive as compared to GT. in Gt they just follow the same racing line to the finish and you can pretty much bump your way to the front. Car customization would be nice aswell, but who needs it when you have Need for Speed Carbon. As far as online goes… yes.. that would be an added bonus as well. Thus im still buying forza 2 , but i will still get a ps3 for GT
and no im not smoking crack, im watching the video in Hi Def on a 32 inch at 720p. my Bravia pwns. Look carefully at the road in forza 2.. it looks like a sheet of freakin clay, with a few skid marks..
and grainy?? LOL.. are you retarded.. have you seen a real road? its not completely gray and perfectly shaped and colored all the way to point B.
I think both games look incredible. No matter what console a person has, they can look forward to an incredible time racing cars from the most mundane to the most exotic around world famous and fantasy locations.
I come from the past where we were amazed that we could drive an invisible car between white rectangles (Night Driver). When I look at where our technology has gotten us I can’t help but be impressed.
I own a 360 and love the Forza 2 demo, but I won’t dis GT:HD. I had a PS2 and had lots of fun playing GT3 and 4. It’s all in the preference people. There’s no need to say my console is better than yours or my racing game makes yours look like crap. They all make Night Driver look like crap and that’s what counts.
Really didn’t think I was gonna start a console fanboy way here…
@drunk pandas
You put up a comparison video between GT:HD and Forza2 and you didn’t think you would start a console fanboy war? There’s something suspicious about that statement.
Either way… the comments here are nothing, someone posted this story up on N4G.com and it’s managed to turn into a seething bloodfest. Check it out. You can almost hear the fanboys hyperventilating as they type their next barely literate remark.
Hmmmm I’d like to see GTHD running with several cars on the track at once. I doubt it would look & play so slick as the demo does. I’m dissapointed with Forza 2’s latest demo too. Think i’m gonna wait til PGR4 arrives in the autumn. Apparently it’ll be leaning towards the simulation side in it’s next outing – and from what i’ve seen so far, it’s looking pretty amazing.
Yeah, they both look cool, but I too think I’ll wait until the fall PGR4 release, hopefully, it’ll look like COD4 does next to COD3..no comparison.
GTHD! you are a frickin’ liar, you don’t own a 360 you own a PS3 and you know it. And it pretty shameless and lame for a sorry fool like you to tell such a lie to support your stupid cause. People like you make me sick to my stomach. Someone told me who you are, what that you don’t own a 360.
Man, you suck, and you are the armpit of fanboys.
If what Spiker says is true, that’s indeed pretty lame, even for a fanboy.
You guys do realise that the Completed GTHD is going to have not only damage modelling, but also at least 10 cars on track, apart from dirt races? This is just a concept game, compared to a FULL VERSION game. If GTHD already looks better than Forza, in which it certainly does, then imagine the full game of GTHD. Sorry if I make you cry in front of your computer screens Xbox 360 and/or Forza fanboys.
Check your resources Phozon. Polyphony is NOT introducing a damage model in GT5. You don’t have to believe me though, just check it.
Have a problem. The GTHD is done on the old engine. Forza is all current engine work. So what will the GT game really look like?
GTHD is a free Playstation Network download, and it still looks much better than Forza 2. Can’t wait until a full Gran Turismo is released on the PS3.
I have messed around with the new Forza demo and found it to be a bit less than what I was expecting. I like the damage modles but I do have a problem that the ccars don’t flip over and once you can’t immobilize other cars. I was driving in the opposite direction and ran my Ferrari into another car going at least 145 mph and the two cars pretty much bounced off each other, I was expecting something more dramatic, perhaps even race ending?! I have to admit though that I am a bigger fan of non-simulator style race games like Burnout.
@ taz8080; the damage in the Forza demo was just visually. In the full game, you will damage your car in ways you can’t drive anymore. You can read all about it at the official Forza site.
I just tried the Forza 2 demo. Already knew GTHD looked better, that’s obvious, but what I didn’t expect is for Forza to drive so unrealistically
I mean, Have you Forza fans ever driven a real car??? Forza 2 feels like I’m sailing a boat. I’ve never driven a Lanborghini Gallardo in real life. I’m positive it doesn’t feel like a Zodiac, and in Forza it does. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Amazing. I can’t understand how badly fanatism can blind people.
Great, I can get my bumper off and the car damaged, so what? it drives like crap anyway. I think you guys believe that having a complicated system in front of you makes it realistic. Sorry, it is just not true.
Well the cars do look better in Forza 2 but the GTHD i just like it better. It was made first hehe
Since I first got the PS1 I’ve had every iteration of the GT series since it began and I do love the series. But while waiting for GT5 I picked up the first Forza and it fealt funny at first and I didn’t like it, but what I realized is that it was just a different feel and once I got used to it I liked it a lot more. In fact I loved it and when I tried to go back to GT4 I didn’t like GT4, it fealt like a downgrade after having damage and FRIGGIN ENGINE SWAPS HOLLY CRAP THOSE ARE AWESOME! But I have to say that the amount of time spent on Forza2s features OTHER THAN visuals is what makes this game unmatched. The sounds, physics, features, online, engine swaps, detailed upgrades and much more make me totaly in love with Forza2. And I can say with confidence that after playing the GTHD demo that it really does not hold a candle to Forza2, it really is GT4 with better graphics, nothing new. And I’m saying this assuming it won’t have anything new because they never do. On top of that GT is notorious for releasing a game visually inferior to their demo or previews. Take a look back at GT4 and GT Concept, concepts environments were much better than what GT4 actually came out with. I see the same thing happening here since all this demo actually has to produce is a single car, rather than 10 on the same screen at a constant 60fps. GTHD doesn’t look as smooth as Forza2 because they didn’t ensure it ran at a constant 60FPS, it looks real good. Coming from a previously hardcore GT fan I will admit that Forza2 is simply hands down the best racing sim ever produced.
Forza is not that good at all compared to the Gran Turismo Series. I played Forza plenty of times and the physics were horrific, the braking system is too slippery, and the racing is not all that exciting. I dont remember which one of you said it, but Gran Turismo’s sound effects are much more realistic and authentic then Forzas. Im not “Bashing” forza, but the GT series has been around much longer then Forza. Dont “Praise Forza just because its a next Gen title.
I have both and they are very different feeling games. Graphically nobody would argue that Forza looks better – the graphics are too clean. But that said the physics of Forza are ace – I doubt the upcoming GT5 will feel as realistic. If you love driving games you really only have one sensible choice – get both.
Of course forza looks better. It’s way more realistic. Gthd looks like a cartoon. Anyway i would have felt very sorry for gthd if the comparison was made wit project gotham racing
4, it’s bloody fantastic.
im gonna make this simple for all you retards.
Forza LOLOLOL
GTA OMFG!
done and check peace
GT HD OF COURSE!!!! AND BY LIGHNING YEARS!!
LOL AT THE PEOPLE SAYING FORZA LOOKS BETTER!! USE YOUR FUCKING EYES AND NOT YOUR DICKS!!
AHHHH so much hate
No i have GT HD and it looks great in 1080i i just want to point out that this video is NOT in HD and the games will always look better in HD(duh). There can also be some distortion in converting videos to flash. Thats y i really don’t care abut these videos. (besides GT HD is free, and Forza is not but GT only has one track but w/e i have a ps3 im sticking with GT i have always liked the series.)
I dont care about what looks better Im all about game play
