The new Xbox 360 Spring Dashboard Update fixed some glaring issues with both VGA and the Wireless Network Adapter.
On the VGA front, you can now select the video Reference Levels in the System Blade. This will allow you to change the output frequency to match your TV’s frequency. No more washed out colors of soft pictures with this fix.
For the Wireless Networking Adapter, you can now connect to a wireless network that is using WPA + WPA2 encryption. This was an issue from day 1 with the adapter. Even though you were allowing a WPA client to connect to your router with both encryptions in place, the official Xbox 360 adapter didn’t want to play nice. Now it does. The official wireless networking adapter still does not support WPA2, but it allows you to connect in the presence of this encryption standard. So for all of you other there using a Draft-N router, you can now connect your Xbox 360 to it with wireless LAN.
Kudos to Microsoft to implementing these fixes. They’re long overdue, but greatly welcome.
