Loot Ninja brought you this story yesterday about how Sony used a decapitated goat’s head as a centerpiece at their God of War 2 release party in Europe. Well, to no one’s surprise, they backpedaled and said they were sorry.
An official statement released by Sony, “”On this occasion we recognize that we fell short of our normal high standards of conduct and apologize for any offense caused,” was there way of saying we screwed up.
Nevertheless, sales show no sign of stopping. The first version released about three years ago has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States alone. Since the U.S. launch in March, Sony has sold 833,000 copies of God Of War II according to informationweek.com. So what is the moral of the story? Bungie can go to the White House, take a huge steamer on the steps and we are all still going to buy Halo 3. It’s just not a good idea.
