Ubuntu Linux Officially Released for PS3

Ubuntu Logo

The wonderful Ubuntu Foundation has released the newest version of their Linux operating system (v7.04, aka Feisty Fawn) for the PS3. If you’re new to Linux, Ubuntu is one of the top distributions. The ease of use coupled with the power of the distro as a desktop operating system has many flocking to it’s beauty.

You can get information on how to install Ubuntu for your PS3 from their official site. The download links can be found in that article as well.

I’m personally still waiting for better support for the PS3’s internal wireless card, card readers, and graphics chip before I install Linux on my PS3.

WTF… I never knew ps3 games OS releases

  2. It’s not made by Sony as a new OS. Sony allows you to install Linux on your PS3, and this is a new distro that can run on the PS3. I personally use Ubuntu on a few systems and love it.

  3. Great post! Thank you for sharing with us.
