The video is using the Dead of Alive 4 version of the Spartan, which was the only female Spartan.
there were female spartans in the books, especially in First Strike.

That was really good animation, but the idea just sucks. I agree, the person who did this is excellent at what they do and deserves a job with any company, but get your facts straight and come up with original ideas. First of all, the “Master Chief” is a guy. There is only one Spartan called “The Master Chief” and he is a dude. Second, Samus would totally lose to the real Master Chief. Argue with me all you want you Nintendo fanboys, you won’t convince me. Lastly, The clip after the credits completely ruins the artistic value of the video. Otherwise, excellent job.
Well some of you question the ending. Well if you knew how to make Samus dance around in her panties then I dont think that much needs to be questioned. Excellant work. You must have lots of experiance under your belt to craft such a video like that. I see that you used Directer. I was thinking that you would use Adobe premier or something, though im sure director is good, (you have have said premier i just dont remember). But nice Samus animation and I like the master chief suprise.

You see two girls kicking ass in a great way, in the end they almost frenchkissing eachother as saying thank you, and you complain it’s a girl. If chief was a guy, it would be standard, making him a girl and them almost kissing makes the vid way more entertaining and gives just that extra.

if you read the real discription of it, it said a “halo/metroid”…film thingy so we only asume that it is master chief but since it doesn,t say master chief and only halo that spartan could have been and of the spartans in history that includes the girl,s and guy,s.

Breathtaking. Love the bit with the shields. Really good, i couldn’t help but yell ‘owned!’ out loud. And all you halo ‘know-it-alls’, the only time that the film even mentions master chief is at the end, and even then it says master-chick. There are several female SpartanIIs, some of which are more proficient than the males. My guess is that the woman shown here is Kelly, but the haircut begs otherwise. The only other person it could be (judging by the sharp-shooting) is Linda, but she is dead *weep*.
The bomb in the MJOLNIR (sp?) armour was a nice touch as well.

Did you also notice that this site calls it “Master Chief vs. Samus”, but the video’s real name is “Haloid”. As in Halo Metroid, as in the person in it doesn’t have to be the Master Chief, and it could have been anyone related to Halo. No one apparently guesses that.

Simply amazing. This was a wonderful piece of animation. For all of you who are complaining about “Master Chief HAS to be a guy!”, why does it even matter? If you’ve read all four books and played the game fifty times, you should probably be doing something more constructive with your time. You know, like clicking on the little links in your emails that say “Incr3a53 your p3n15 51z3!!!” This was a superb video. THIS is something to post on the Internet for prospective employers to find.

Ok I just went down and read through all of these posts. You guys are morons. Nowhere in the video does it say Master Chief. The title of the video is Haloid. In the Halo back story, according the the books, there are almost as many female Spartans as there are male. Also in DOA 4 there is a female Spartan. So no, it isn’t Master Chief and yes there are Spartan women.

Anyone who says this movie sucks just because the Spartan is a girl is retarded. Metroid and Halo are both very respectable franchises that would both find this video in good taste. The shotgun ownage was sweet, the sniper/shield stuff was amazing, and everything else was just fantastic. This guy needs hired, not ragged on for straying a tad from the “normal” Spartan idea. If anyone wants to mail me saying this video sucks, go ahead. However, this is just breathtaking. It has some majorly cool animation, coupled with comical movie references and intense fight scenes. Secondly, the dance scene at the end was brilliant. Anyone who can animate like that and come up with anything like that is nothing short of a talented genius.

And just an FYI to all of you…Originally, they wanted to make Master Chief female. Supposedly, they chose against it because they felt that action games should have male lead roles….something about masculinity and better matching with guns.

It was definitly incredible and I loved it up until the end. I thought making Master Chief female was kinda “meh” as well as the slightly implied “lesbian love” in the end. I think a lot of people are still hung up on the fact that the Spartan in the video is a female. This Spartan is NOT meant to be “the” Master Chief. There were many many female Spartans in the Halo novels, and the Spartan in Dead or Alive 4 was female.
Let’s get past this fact, and realize how amazing this video is… come on, the person made it at home with the same equipment you and I have access to.

If you know anything about Halo, you would know that there are actually female Spartan IIs, in this case it’s most probally Kelly but there isn’t really anyway of knowing. This movie could have actually taken place before Reach was destroyed so in that case, it could have been many of female Spartans. Anyway awsome video, I’d love to see more :D. Most favourite is probally the shot-gun scene; sweet Kilimanjaro right there hehe. Nice ideas too, especially grabbing the weapons as they die, thats pretty cool.

Ok, just a quick note to all the folks who bashed this saying it was a rip-off of the matrix or some such. So what? Listen to your favorite music more closely, and you will see that there is a ton of “sampling” going on. So what if someone choses to “sample” from videos or video games? If the owners of the materials have no problem with it, what are you complaining about? The quality? The content? Or just because you don’t have the skills to make something yourself? It was made by someone who enjoyed doing it and putting their time and effort into something they like to do. Enjoy it for what it is, entertaining.
(Okay, more than just a quick note.)
I loved the whole thing, every bit was great. The positives were the fight scene was completly awesome, especially with the matrix music, enourmous amounts of colored covnent soldiers, and the ending dance scene, it wa spriceless to see the elites dance with samus and the female spartan.
The negatives were definatly when you found at that master chief was a female for what ever reason, that reunied it a little bit, could have more intense fight scenes, and could have added some more soldiers like brutes, the arbitor, and the prophets.
Overall, quite excellent, I hope to some more fights like this one in the future! Cobra!!!
