PlayStation Store Now Offering PS1 Games for Download

If you have both a PS3 and a PSP, you can now download PS1 games from the PlayStation Store to play on your PSP. I, personally, have been waiting a LONG time for this functionality and I’m delighted it’s here. There are five games available now: Cool Boarders, Crash Bandicoot, Hot Shots Golf 2, Syphon Filter, and Tekken 2. All games are $5.99 each, and require firmware v3.01 for your PSP. They’re decent file sizes, most over 400MB. So make sure you’ve got some big Memory Stick Pro Duo cards laying around. I’ve got myself a 1GB and 2GB card waiting to download games. I’ll probably grab Crash Bandicoot and Syphon Filter. Hopefully Sony will update the PS3 firmware soon to allow you to play these downloaded games directly on the PS3.
