So now that I have everything all setup and working nicely, I decided to play around in the Playstation Store. Couple of gripes: first, there’s no background downloading. Second, there’s no download queue. They really need to add both of these. After this was added to the 360, it’s amazing how much better it is! I’m sitting here waiting for the 865mb demo of Resistance: Fall of Man to download. I wish I could browse around the Store more and add other demos to the download queue. Hopefully soon it gets added in a firmware update.

The layout of the store is actually pretty cool. It’s not that hard to navigate. I like how on the lower right they show the top 10 downloaded items. There’s a bunch of demos up there right now, along with game videos and HD movie trailers. I’m still downloading things, so I haven’t gotten around to watching anything yet.

I also ordered a 120GB Toshiba laptop hard drive to replace the 20GB hard drive that came with my PS3. I know for sure it won’t be enough, seeing as most games have you installing 5GB of data to reduce load times. The hard drive cost me $100 shipped, so it brings the PS3 cost to the same as the 60GB edition, but now I have double that amount of hard drive space. My PS3 is hooked up with a wireless bridge, so there’s no need for internal wireless, and I have no desire to view pictures on my PS3, so I won’t need the memory card slots. I wonder if my USB Memory Card reader would work anyway. I’ll have to try that out…
